Welcome to Butterfly Moon Home Decor!


These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website, the placement of any orders, and your interaction with Butterfly Moon Home Decor ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, placing an order, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or place an order.


1. Definitions

  • Custom Order: Any item made to your specific design, text, size, or material request.
  • Design: The specific graphic or text to be burned.
  • Wood Piece: The specific object (coaster, magnet, sign, etc.) onto which the design will be burned.
  • Working Day: Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays in the United States of America.

2. Product Description & Process

  • Hand-Made and Unique: Each item is individually hand-burned (pyrography) on real wood. Every piece of wood has natural variations in grain, color, shape, bark texture, and size (e.g., natural variations of +/- 0.5 inches). Because each item is created by hand, minor differences in design alignment, shading, and paint application are an inherent and celebrated feature of artisan work.
  • The Burning Process: The design is burned into the wood surface. The depth, color, and texture of the burn can vary based on wood type, grain, and the specific pyrography technique.
  • Finished Product vs. Proofs: While we strive for accuracy, the colors of the wood and the burned design (including any added paint) as seen on your screen (monitor or mobile device) may differ slightly from the physical product in person. This is due to variations in digital display and photographic lighting.

3. Custom Orders & Design Proofs

  • Submission and Copyright: You are responsible for ensuring all text for custom orders is spelled correctly. You also warrant that you possess the necessary copyright or licensing permissions for any image or design you submit for us to burn. We are not liable for any copyright infringement resulting from your submissions.
  • Proofs: For all Custom Orders, we may provide a digital proof of the proposed design for your approval. Approval must be given in writing via email or the platform used. We allow for one (1) minor revision to the design proof. Further revisions may incur an additional fee.
  • Final Approval: By approving the proof, you are agreeing that the layout, text, spelling, and general design elements are correct. We are not liable for any errors found after the final proof has been approved.

4. Pricing, Payments & Orders

  • Pricing: All prices are as listed and subject to change without notice. Any sales or promotional prices are valid only during the specified period.
  • Payments: Full payment (including shipping, if applicable) is required at the time of order for standard items. For Custom Orders, a non-refundable deposit (typically 50% of the total cost, or a full payment, depending on complexity) is required before design work begins. The balance must be paid before shipment. Payments can be made via credit card.
  • Order Confirmation: An email confirmation will be sent to the address provided upon receipt of your order. This confirmation is a receipt, not an acceptance of order. We reserve the right to decline any order for any reason, including, but not limited to, pricing errors, or inability to produce the custom design.
  • Changes to Orders: Changes to standard orders must be requested within 24 hours. Once production has started, standard orders cannot be modified. Changes to approved Custom Orders are not possible.

5. Lead Times & Shipping

  • Lead Times: Lead times for production are as listed on the product pages or in the custom order agreement. These are estimates and depend on current order volume and order complexity. We will communicate any significant delays. Lead times do not include shipping time.
  • Shipping: Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and vary based on weight and destination. We ship to addresses withing the United States of America. You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address.
  • Shipping Times: Estimated shipping times are just estimates. We are not liable for delays caused by postal services.
  • Damaged Shipments: If your item arrives damaged, you must take photos of the packaging and the damaged item and contact us within two (2) working days of delivery. We will work with you on a replacement or refund, depending on the situation and our assessment of fault. We may require the damaged item to be returned at your cost before processing a replacement.

6. Returns & Exchanges

  • Custom Orders: Due to their personalized nature, Custom Orders are final and non-refundable, non-returnable, and non-exchangeable. The only exception is if the item arrives damaged, in which case we will follow the Damaged Shipments protocol.
  • Standard Items: All sales are final. No returns accepted.
  • Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. 

7. Liability Disclaimer

  • Natural Materials: Wood is a natural, live material and will continue to change over time. Environmental factors like humidity and sunlight can cause cracking, splitting, or color fading. These natural processes are not considered defects, and we are not liable for any such changes.
  • Artistic Variation: The hand-burned and hand-painted nature and specific wood grain, coloration, shape and size may create variations. You acknowledge and accept that your product is one-of-a-kind, and minor differences from any product image are expected. Furthermore, because we paint each item by hand, we may sometimes vary the colors used in a single design. This creates a truly unique and artisanal piece, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.
  • Limitation of Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising out of your purchase or use of our products is limited to the purchase price of the specific product. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages.

8. Disclaimers for Online Presentation

  • Digital Displays: You understand and accept that the colors of wood grain and burned designs (including added paint) can vary significantly across different monitor settings, screen resolutions, and digital devices. The actual physical product colors may not match the colors shown on your screen precisely.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of our website or placement of orders after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and your purchase are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.
